ALTE HASEN
SANKT OTTEN has combed through their archive and found some wonderful jewels! So sprang up the plan to compile a digital album with rare and unreleased tracks for shortening the waiting time until the next regular release.
These instrumental recordings from 2001-2009 were written between debut album EINE KLEINE TRAURIGKEIT and first DENOVALI release MORGEN WIEDER LUSTIG.
On ALTE HASEN (old rabbits/old hand) we find some early titles from a long sold out 7“ as well as tracks, that have only been available on CD compilations from the US. We got electronic Krautrock (ROTE OHREN / MELANCHOLIE FÜR MILLIONEN) as well as a JAMES BOND soundtrack nobody has ever asked for (FALSCHER FILM / MENSCHEN, GÖTTER, SENSATIONEN). Together with Post-Rock stuff (LACH DICH WIEDER / SEHNSUCHT NACH DER PARTY DANACH) to epic Ambient miniatures (DA VORNE WIRD ES SCHON DUNKEL / SENSIBLER UMGANG MIT DER STILLE).
Prick your ears and enjoy a successful mix of 13 titles from the old hands SANKT OTTEN.

I think Cosmic Ground is a exciting band. Old fashioned and with nice vibes and rhytms. But I miss something. Many compare with TD. Maybe, but I lack the crescendo at the end of the songs. It becomes boring when the end lacks a Froeselike guitarsolo. Something is missing, the crescendo is missing, the songs just exit out with no proper end explosion.

Nice variety of sounds on this one. It's got some ZEIT in there and some driving rhythms, quiet reflective moments and big beats. Greasy is a beaut.
